BioI'm a dedicant in Blue Star Wicca currently working on her neophyte homework, and I'm also a Bard in the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids, steadily working through her Bardic Grade. I'm also a podcaster, a parent, and a sometime poet. This journal is mostly for the purpose of keeping in touch with my B* family, my friends at OBOD, and writing about spiritual stuff.

I've been happily shacked up since 2004 with a lovely atheist and software developer. His money-making prowess means I get to stay home and putter - a fact for which I am eternally grateful, since I'm not very good at living in the so-called real world. My three boys live at home, eat us into poverty, and keep my life very interesting. I have two fur-babies - Buddha the Dog and Fiona the Cat. There are other four-pawed creatures about, but they belong to other members of the household and I pay them little mind.
I used to write - a lot - but my muse was misery and I got happy. There ended my writing career. I've named 2009 my 'woad' year, which means my focus will be on freedom, bardic arts, and warriorhood. I hope to start writing again as Awen finds me (or I find Awen - whatever the case may be.)
I'm an odd pagan, in that a long dark night of the soul has led me to embrace pantheism as the only thing that makes any sense. However, when I work in the Otherworld (and I do work very hard), I am often visited by deity-like beings who may or not be aspects of self, archetypes, or other thought forms. I am not closed to theism, but I prefer to remain firmly grounded on planet earth. It is enough for now for me to declare my undying faith in the Universe and leave it at that until a higher power with a face and name grabs me by the scruff and makes me take notice.
I am a huge believer in daily practice as the only way to survive long dark nights of the soul. Practice may not make perfect, but it does make one accessible to the divine beings of their understanding, and that is, as always, my main spiritual goal. "Hello, Gods? Are you there? It's me...listening, waiting..."
And so it is.
I am a huge fan of Battlestar Galactica and have taken to using the word "Frack", much to the amusement of my children. I also enjoy True Blood, Dexter, Survivor and Grey's Anatomy. I enjoy yoga in small doses, and long walks as often as possible.
I am 40 going on 20.
